4. Crystal Palace - £66.09 million net spend
Crystal Palace also ended up among the big boys in the Premier League this summer, with newly appointed manager Patrick Vieira signing a number of players and making major changes to the squad.
The Eagles lured the likes of Marc Guehi, Joachim Andersen, Odsonne Edouard, Michael Olise and Will Hughes to Selhurst Park Stadium. Apart from loan deals, Crystal Palace didn't sell anyone during the transfer window.
However, the team is yet to hit the ground running this season. So far, they've recorded one loss and two draws from their three Premier League games and currently sit in the 14th spot in the table.
3. Manchester City - £73.83 million net spend
Manchester City spent big once again this summer. The Cityzens completed the most expensive transfer of the window, coughing out a massive £100 million to sign highly talented playmaker Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.
They also lured Brazilian winger Kayky from Fluminense to Etihad Stadium for £9 million, raising their overall spendings to £109 million. The sales of players like Angelino, Jack Harrison and Lucas Nmecha helped to lower their expenses a bit as they ended up with a net spend of £73.83 million.
The Cityzens have kick-started their title defense with two victories and one defeat from three Premier League games so far, which places them in seventh position on the table at the moment.
2. Manchester United - £99.81 million net spend
The Premier League giants may not have spent much on the acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo, but they did splash the cash on the likes of Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho this summer, signing both superstars for a combined fee of over £110 million.
Manchester United raised some cash from the sale of Daniel James, who left for Leeds United in a £25 million deal last month. In total, the Red Devils recorded a net spend of £99.81 million, making them the second-highest spenders in the Premier League this summer.
Anticipation is running high as fans look forward to seeing Ronaldo wearing the Red Devils' jersey once again. It remains to be seen if the Portuguese can drive them to triumph this season.
1. Arsenal - £121.23 million net spend
Arsenal spent more money than any Premier League club this summer. The Gunners signed the likes of Ben White, Martin Odegaard, Aaron Ramsdale, Nuno Tavares and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
They also parted ways with players like Joe Willock, Lucas Torreira and Willian. Their overall net spend stands at £121.23 million. With such a massive expenditure, fans will expect Mikel Arteta to deliver decent results this season.
Unfortunately, things don't seem to be going in the manager's favor. Arsenal currently sit at the bottom end of the Premier League table, having lost all three of their games so far. They definitely need a miraculous turnaround before it gets out of hand.
