The legendary Bob Paisley managed Liverpool back in those days. The side at the time had several iconic names like Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, Graeme Souness and Alan Hansen.
1982 was a historic period for Liverpool as they registered 33 wins in the calendar year. After a spell of poor performances, the Reds won the league title in style during the 1981-82 season. The second half of the year saw a good start to their title defense, which resulted in another title the following year.

It can only be a special Premier League team that can beat the achievements of the teams on this esteemed list. Manchester City, under Pep Guardiola, can justifiably stake that claim, given how mighty the club has been under the Spaniard.
The Cityzens not only have a squad of world-class players, but also play in a style that is entertaining to watch and consistently churns out results as well.
Manchester City have now registered 34 wins in the calendar year to set an all-time top division record. It remains to be seen what glories their brilliant start to the current campaign can lead them to next year.
Manchester City won the 2020-21 league title as well as the League Cup. Though they fell one step short of the coveted Champions League title, 2021 has been an excellent year for the Pep Guardiola-led Premier League club.
