#3 Denmark (European Championship 1992)
The 2002 European Championship produced one of the most unbelievable triumphs in football history. Denmark pulled out of nowhere to win the tournament with some miraculous occurrences.
To start with, the Danish Dynamites weren't supposed to participate in the competition but Yugoslavia's disqualification paved the way for their entrance. They beat the mighty England and France to finish second in their group - behind leaders Sweden.
Denmark narrowly edged past the Netherlands in the semifinals to set up a David versus Goliath clash with Germany in the final. They miraculously earned a 2-0 victory over the then world champions to claim the European crown and write their names in football history.
#2 Greece (European Championship 2004)
This is another interesting underdog story that will serve as a huge source of inspiration for many teams. Greece produced one of the most odd-defying runs in football history as they went all the way to claiming the coveted European Championship in 2004.
The team was considered minnows to everyone they came up against in the tournament but they stood strong and never lost faith. They delivered several defensive masterclasses as they finished second in their group and earned a vital 1-0 victory over defending champions France in the quarterfinals.
Greece recorded another 1-0 victory over the Czech Republic in the semifinals before beating Portugal in the final to claim the trophy. Many were left astonished to see such an epic run by the team.
#1 Leicester City (Premier League 2015-2016)
Leicester City's Premier League triumph in 2016 remains one of the most remarkable success stories in football history. Priced at a ridiculous 5000-1 odds to win the title that season, it was unintakable that they would even get a shot.
However, the Foxes managed to turn the tables, proving to be a match for even the biggest teams in the league. The team played with blood and sweat. Kasper Schmeichel was a huge presence in goal, Wes Morgan and Robert Huth formed an impenetrable wall at the heart of the defense.
N'Golo Kante and Danny Drinkwater anchored the midfield properly, with the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and Okazaki running riot in attack. They won the title with an impressive 81 points, losing just three games all season. They also earned famous victories against the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
