Arjen Robben cutting inside from the left flank and scoring a goal with his brilliant left-foot is a familiar sight for many in world football. But the Dutch winger's contributions to Chelsea in his early years often got ignored.

Juan Mata was simply one of the best Spanish players to have played for Chelsea. During his brief period with the Blues, Mata wreaked havoc with his creativity from wide areas.

Mata possessed superior vision and was extremely skillful, which helped him create a lot of chances for his teammates. The left-footed wizard would often launch attacks of his own and play out venomous through balls to break defensive barriers.

Mata bagged 32 goals and 58 assists for Chelsea and remains one of the highest scoring Spanish players in Premier League history. For his exploits, Mata was awarded the 'Player of the Year' award twice during his tenure at Stamford Bridge.
