#3 - Mateo Kovacic
Mateo Kovacic has been Chelsea's player of the season so far, without a doubt. The Croatian ran the game along with Jorginho in midfield, and Norwich City players never got close to him.
The former Real Madrid midfielder was always on the lookout for an attacking pass and took the game to his opponents. He put in a scintillating ball for Callum Hudson-Odoi's goal.
He was trying to get more goals for his team throughout the game. The Croat also got an assist for Ben Chilwell's goal after finding him free on the edge of the box.
Kovacic played the whole game for Thomas Tuchel's side today and finished with 94% pass success and made five tackles as well.
#2 - Callum Hudson-Odoi
Thomas Tuchel challenged Callum Hudson-Odoi to showcase his talent, and the Englishman did precisely that. The Chelsea youngster got to play in his favorite position (left-wing) today and showed why he needs to play there more often.
Ahead of the game, Thomas Tuchel said:
"The only person who can decide this and answer this question is Callum. It's as easy as that. Is there a turning point? OK, he needs to prove it. He needs to play the next 250 games on the highest level, and then that was the turning point. But is it a turning point if he does a brilliant match tomorrow? No."
Tuchel's words seem to have forced CHO to put in a performance and a half today. He finished the game with a goal, 88% pass success, and, more importantly, with a lot of confidence. This will be important going into the tricky round of fixtures where Chelsea could be without Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku.
#1 - Mason Mount
Mason Mount was highly critical of himself this week and claimed it was about time he got on the scoresheet. The Chelsea man believed the floodgates would open once he ended his goalless streak.
"It's about time I got on the scoresheet. I'm getting in the right areas but it's just not falling for me. Hopefully when the first one goes in the floodgates will open."
And that is exactly what happened. Mount got on the scoresheet early in the game with a superb striker and then went on to finish it with a hat-trick. He did have his penalty initially saved in the 84th minute. Luckily he got another chance as Tim Krul was off his line before the ball was struck.
He will hope to keep up with this performance to cement his place in Tuchel's starting XI even after Lukaku and Werner's return.
