After becoming the first player to score 40 goals in a La Liga season, Cristiano Ronaldo netted six more times in the 2011-12 edition of the competition. That made him the first (and only) player to register consecutive 40-goal La Liga campaigns as Real Madrid won their first league title in four years.

Ronaldo amassed a record seven league hat-tricks in the campaign, powering Madrid to the La Liga title. However, the Portuguese incredibly lost out on the Pichichi award to Messi, who went four better.

Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed the most prolific season of his career in 2014-15, netting a staggering 48 goals in La Liga and 10 in the Champions League. It was a shame Real Madrid won neither competition.

Ronaldo was simply unstoppable in the league, breaking his own record for most hat-tricks in a La Liga season by registering eight such efforts. He scored a quintuple against Granada and ended the campaign with three hat-tricks in four games. Despite Ronaldo's exploits, Real Madrid (90) fell short by two points in a titanic title race with Barcelona.

In the Champions League, Ronaldo was far less prolific, scoring 'only' 10 times in 12 games. Yet, holders Real Madrid were eliminated by Juventus in the semi-final.
