Brighton & Hove Albion v Wolverhampton Wanderers - Premier League

Davy Pröpper has been a central figure for Brighton throughout their time in the PL. Signed for a then-record transfer fee of £6m (for Brighton) from PSV Eindhoven, Pröpper has started 85.6% of all Brighton matches in the league. That adds up to 7296 minutes, a staggering return from a player who had just moved to the toughest league in the world from a relatively easier Dutch league.

Only two other outfield players have played more for Brighton since he signed for them 3 years ago. He averages 2 tackles per game, 4th highest for a Brighton player. Pröpper also has the second-highest dribbles per game by a Brighton player– 1.8. Pröpper provides Brighton with the bedrock that allows their strikers to flourish and is pivotal to their build-up play too. Consistent, efficient and effective, it’s hard to believe that in today’s inflated market he cost only £6m.
