#3. Marco Reus
Marco Reus was part of Dortmund’s academy but he moved to the lower leagues of Germany to develop his game in 2006. He steadily improved as a player but a lot of credit for his rise to stardom goes to his former manager at Borussia Monchengladbach, Lucien Favre.
The German international had the chance to return to his boyhood club in 2012 after turning down an offer from Bayern Munich and has been with them since.
In his debut season, Reus helped Dortmund reach the final of the Champions League and ended the season with 18 goals and 11 assists.
When fit, Reus is one of the best players on the planet but injuries have stopped him from reaching his best level constantly. Nevertheless, he has scored 89 times for Dortmund in 189 games.
