#4 Mesut Ozil
Arsenal captured Mesut Ozil for a then club record fee of £42.5 million from Real Madrid in 2013. It was the beginning of a foray of big signings after relief from their stadium debt.
"He is a great player, with proven quality at both club and international level. We have watched and admired him for some time as he has all the attributes I look for in an Arsenal player." - Arsene Wenger after Ozil's move
Many people doubted Ozil's suitability to the Premier League style, but he proved doubters wrong. He became a crucial player, and was the spine of the midfield for Arsenal for their triple FA Cup success.
The 2015-16 season was one of the best Ozil has had in an Arsenal shirt, with 20 assists and eight goals in all competitions earning him Arsenal's player of the year award.
He is likely to be a crucial player again this season, and will hope to play a key role in new manager Unai Emery's team.
