#2 Kylian Mbappe (26 goals)
With Neymar and Edinson Cavani ruled out for the majority of the end of the season, it was time to step up for Mbappe and the Frenchman did just that. Mbappe has been ruling in the Ligue 1 and scoring goals for fun.
Mbappe has played in a front two alongside Angel Di Maria and there partnership has been wonderful to watch. The young Frenchman is no doubt the best young player in the world and he has the best chance to dethrone Lionel Messi from the top spot.
#1 Lionel Messi (29 goals)
Lionel Messi has been on another level this season and no one in the world has come close to his form and level of performances. The little Argentine genius has won Barcelona matches almost singlehandedly and the 31-year-old is in no mood of stopping.
His partnership with Suarez and Jordi Alba has been delightful to watch. Messi is a set piece specialist and has already scored some absolute screamers, most recently against Real Betis. The Argentine is running away with Golden Shoe and on if his current form for Barcelona is taken into consideration, he may be the favourite for the Golden Shoe this season.
