Paris Saint-Germain Player Ratings
Keylor Navas - 7/10
Navas made a wonder-save to deny Haidara in the first half. He could do nothing about either Leipzig goal.
Alessandro Florenzi - 5/10
Florenzi was troubled throughout the game by Angelino's energy down the flank. He really couldn't get forward either, for fear of leaving space in behind for the Brazilian to exploit.
Danilo Pereira - 7/10
Playing in an unfamiliar position, Danilo was excellent. He was strong in the air, but also used his pace and physicality well against the likes of Olmo, Forsberg and Poulsen.
Presnel Kimpembe - 3/10
Kimpembe had an atrocious game. He conceded the decisive penalty with a blatant handling of the ball. He also got himself unnecessarily sent off, and will miss the next game.
Layvin Kurzawa - 5/10
Kurzawa managed to see a lot of the ball on the PSG left flank, but he simply couldn't make it count in terms of attacking productivity.
Marquinhos - 6/10
The PSG skipper was once again very good in the midfield, breaking up play well and taking care in possession. However, this wasn't a game that was won or lost in midfield.
Idrissa Gueye - 4/10
Like Kimpembe, Gueye too let his team down with an unnecessary challenge to get himself sent off. When he was already on a yellow card, he went in far too forcefully, and left the referee with no other choice but to send him off.
Ander Herrera - 5/10
The former Manchester United player was quiet in midfield. One cannot pinpoint any particular aspect of Herrera's game which influenced the outcome for PSG in this match.
Angel Di Maria - 7/10
Di Maria was a constant threat to Orban down the PSG right. He finished the move in style to put PSG in the lead within the first five minutes. In hindsight, his missed penalty was a big moment in the game.
Moise Kean - 7/10
He used his strength and pace well, and tended to get the better of Upamecano more often than not. He had the ball in the net once, but it was ruled out for offside.
Pablo Sarabia - 5/10
Sarabia was a peripheral figure in the game. He really didn't feature match in most of the good things that PSG managed to do.
Substitutes
Thilo Kehrer - 5/10
After replacing Florenzi, Kehrer only really made some unnecessary fouls and helped Leipzig relieve the pressure that was on them.
Mitchel Bakker - 5/10
Bakker was brought on to deal with the threat of the onrushing Heinrichs. He did a decent job of that, but his passing was a little too sloppy.
Rafinha - 5/10
Rafinha put in a couple of testing crosses into the box, but those were well dealt with by the Leipzig defenders.
