Real Madrid hobbled their way into the last 8 of the Copa del Rey as Lucas Vazquez was twice cancelled out by Guillermo Fernandez in an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Zinedine Zidane once again fielded a weakened side, and the Madrid side came a cropper once again. A 10th-minute lead suggested an ideal start, but Numancia responded just seconds before the half-time whistle.
Vazquez would restore the lead around the hour mark, but like in the opening 45, Blancos are caught napping as the visitors drew level in the final few minutes.
What should've been a saunter, turned into a slog as the European champions put in yet another mediocre show. That being said, here's a look at the player ratings for both sides:
CD Numancia
Munir Mohamedi - 7/10
Although he could do little to keep Vazquez out on both goal-scoring occasions, Munir imbued confidence whenever called into action. How he dealt with an effort by Isco is a testament to that.
Unai Medina - 6/10
Occasionally caused troubles down the right, but overall, he lacked the spark to truly leave a mark, both defensively and offensively.
Dani Calvo - 4/10
Calvo lost his cool as the game headed towards the full-time and picked up a red (second yellow of the game) for a nasty challenge on Isco. His aggressiveness in defence came back to bite him eventually.
Unai Elgezabal - 6/10
Was easily beaten on both occasions that the home side scored, and was tested often by the likes of Vazquez, Asensio and Ceballos.
Saul Garcia - 6.5/10
His only significant contribution was the inch-perfect cross he laid for Fernandez for the equaliser as Saul's attempts to make forays in the box were conveinently dealt with, otherwise.
Pablo Larrea - 6.5/10
Failed to provide a shield to the backline as Larrea was found out of position on many occasions. Tried his luck at the other end just after the interval with a strike, but lifted it well over the crossbar.
Grego Sierra - 6.5/10
Tried to give a tough competition to his Madrid counterparts, but the horrible tackle on Vazquez not only earned him a yellow, but also bloated an otherwise considerable show.
Nacho Sanchez - 6/10
Virtually non-existent, Nacho hardly tested the Madrid defence, leaving his attacking counterparts to do it all by themselves.
Dani Nieto - 6/10
A figure of controversy in the reverse fixture, Nieto was relatively quiet this time around but weighed in with some decent crosses and also tested Nacho and Vallejo on few occasions.
Marc Mateu - 7.5/10
For all the promise he showed in the first leg, Mateu started this one and didn't take much time to repay the manager's faith as his inspiring run down the left flank to lay down a pass to Fernadez for the equaliser was a thing of beauty.
Higinio Marin - N/A
The striker was unfortunate to be robbed off a chance as an injury just minutes before the half-time had him to be taken off.
Substitutes:
Guillermo Fernandez - 8.5/10
Marin's loss was Fernandez's gain as he struck twice on a memorable night for him. Dispatched both his chances with nonchalance, as Madrid's defence was put to the sword.
Perre Milla - 6/10
Had nearly half an hour at his mercy, but didn't cause anything of value.
Markel Etxeberria - 6.5/10
Linked up well with Fernandez in the final third and called the opposing defence into action with some threatening crosses.
Real Madrid
Kiko Casilla - 5/10
The Real Madrid shot-stopper was rendered helpless on both occasions of Numancia's goals, but even otherwise, Casilla didn't imbue confidence and his slack passing drew the ire of the fans.
Daniel Carvajal - 6.5/10
Laid a brilliant assist for the opener, but Carvajal is still some way off his best. The Spaniard has only recovered from a virus, and needs time to really get going. Painfully sloppy defending by him today.
Jesus Vallejo - 6.5/10
The youngster attempted to nick Numancia's passes in the final third with crucial interceptions and blocks, but was caught out whenever Numancia scored.
Nacho - 6/10
Even if Vallejo is absolved due to lack of first-team experience, Nacho doesn't warrant any excuse for letting in two goals against a second tier team. The centre-back failed to communicate by any means with the 21-year old and disappointed in his own lacklustre showing at the heart of Madrid backline.
Theo Hernandez - 6.5/10
The promise with which he arrived was on display today, albeit in only flashes and few dangerous attempts at goal. But Theo left a lot to be desired from the defensive front.
Marcos Llorente - 5/10
Llorente's stock sees no light of the day with another poor outing that might just sound the death knell. The Spanish youngster has consistently disappointed this season, and here's another clunker to add to his growing list.
Mateo Kovacic - 6.5/10
The Croat couldn't maintain possession once Numancia upped their game and stuttered under pressure. The midfield looked terribly haphazard at times, and Kovacic couldn't do anything about it.
Lucas Vazquez - 8.5/10
The hero of the night, Vazquez just showed why he deserves more time on the field. Real Madrid's best performer against Numancia over both legs.
Marco Asensio - 7/10
Following a dip, Asensio is slowly getting into the groove again and it was evident on the night. Contributed actively in the attack, whereas the opening 45 minutes were his best in a long time. However, he was subbed off at the hour mark for Isco.
Dani Ceballos - 7/10
Another promising youngster with much to offer, Ceballos delivers another encouraging performance. He impressed when in possession while his off the ball movements was a matter of concern for the visitors. Needs more time on the field to continue developing.
Borja Mayoral - 7/10
Mayoral was deprived of proper service, but ensured his team-mates don't endure the same fate with a brilliant assist to Vazquez.
Substitutes:
Achraf Hakimi - 6/10
Replaced Carvajal at half-time, but could do nothing to justify the replacement. The Moroccan offered few and far between in the defence, and couldn't do much about the crosses.
Isco - 6.5/10
The former Malaga man impressed with his first-touches and sparkling runs, but couldn't produce anything of note to hand a win to his side.
Casemiro - 6/10
The man who once brought balance to the team, is suddenly lacking equilibrium himself. The Brazilian really needs to contemplate his disciplinary issues as another cheap yellow card endangered his participation in the latter stages of the competition.
