#2 Bayern Munich
It might be considered a strange move by some, but to see Bale move to Germany and to their biggest club, Bayern Munich, actually makes more sense than most moves for the Welshman. Firstly, Bayern are definitely one of Europe’s true giants, a side who have won the Champions League on multiple occasions and hold a near-monopoly over the Bundesliga. They also have other global superstars such as Robert Lewandowski and Manuel Neuer on their books, meaning Bale would fit right in.
More to the point, with both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery finally on their way out of the Allianz this summer, Bayern will need a flying wide forward to replace them. While they do have a pair of hot prospects in the form of Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman able to slot into those positions, obviously Bale would be an upgrade on both and would lessen the loss of Bayern’s veterans considerably.
Bale’s wages could be an issue if he were to move to Bayern – reportedly, their current highest earner is Lewandowski who makes €225,000 per week, a figure considerably lower than Bale would probably command, and if the Welshman joined at anywhere near his current wage it could cause ripples across the club. But if he were willing to take a bit of a pay cut, then this could be an ideal move for both parties – and Bale could even inspire Bayern to go deeper in next season’s Champions League.
