What’s the story?
Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with Eden Hazard according to reports in the Daily Star. Los Blancos have given him a huge contract on wages close to that of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.
Speaking to Telefoot recently, Hazard admitted interest in leaving Chelsea and playing for other big Europen clubs. "When it's not PSG [Paris Saint-Germain], it's Real [Madrid]. And then perhaps it'll be Bayern [Munich]... Bizarrely, last year, there was no one! There are always personal ambitions to play for other clubs, dreams. But I try to focus on the present. As I said, I first have things to finish with Chelsea this year. Then, I'll go on holiday. We'll see after that. I have a contract until 2020. For the moment, I'm here, I'm good." said the Belgian.
In case you didn’t know...
Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of Hazard and has been trying to lure him to Bernabeu ever since he took over. The Frenchman always has deemed the Chelsea star as the 3rd best player in the world, right behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Hazard too has not made any secret of his admiration for the Madrid manager. He has openly admitted that he wants to work under Zidane - the player whom he idolised when he was growing up.

The heart of the matter
Chelsea are set for a battle to keep hold of their best player, Hazard in the summer as reports suggest that the Belgian has already agreed personal terms with the Spanish Giants. The Blues' have offered him yet another new contract despite him signing a new one last year.
The Belgian still has three years left on his current contract but is said to be keen on leaving the club before the contract runs out. Chelsea know that Hazard is one of the best in the world right now and are bound to demand a world record fee to let go of him.
Former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho was famously quoted saying that Hazard's one leg would cost £100 million. However, the Premier League table toppers have not inserted a release clause in his contract.
What’s next?
Real Madrid will now hold talks with Chelsea in the coming weeks to try and strike a deal for Hazard. The Blues' are interested in Madrid stars, James Rodriguez, Isco and Alvaro Morata so, Los Blancos might add one or two of these players as a sweetener in the deal to get the Belgian.

Author’s Take
Everyone knew that this move was bound to happen. It was just a matter of time. Hazard has been at Chelsea for five years now, and for a player like him, it was time to move on. Real Madrid are going to benefit a lot from this, but it would be interesting to see who Chelsea get to replace Hazard in their starting XI.
