Samuel Umtiti's injury could prove to be a major threat to Barcelona, should they fail to secure replacements in the winter transfer window. Reports from Goal.com claim that Barcelona are keen on signing Ajax's Matthijs De Ligt next summer, but could seek a stop-gap solution in the winter transfer window.

The reports claim that Ernesto Valverde and the club's hierarchy are considering a short-term swoop for former Chelsea star, Branislav Ivanovic to shore up the side's defence. Ivanovic left Chelsea and joined Zenit in 2017 and is viewed as someone with immense experience - something that Barcelona are said to be in dire need of at the back.
