Iker Casillas, who played for Real Madrid for the first time this season, has been injured during the Champions League first round game against Turkish giants Galatasaray.
Iker collided with fellow team mate Sergio Ramos in the 12th minute of the match, but decided to carry on. Later, the physio was forced to come in. Iker’s entire abdomen was bandaged.
Iker collided with Ramos and got elbowed on the rib area. Iker decided to continue but in a few moments, he decided to sub himself out in the 15th minute of the game to make way for Diego Lopez.
Iker played for the first time in 237 days for the Los Blancos, only to be injured.
Carlo Ancelotti had decided earlier that Diego Lopez would keep the Madrid goalmouth in La Liga while Iker would feature in the Champions League, but luck didn’t seem to be favouring Casillas.
Last time Iker was out injured, it too came off fellow team mate Alvaro Arbeloa.
There has been no reports of how serious the injury is or how long the Real Madrid captain will be out of action.
