European champions Real Madrid are allegedly willing to let Angel Di Maria leave the club, alerting both Arsenal and Manchester United, according to Marca.
Di Maria, 26, was a star for Real Madrid last season in Carlo Ancelotti’s first season at the club as they lifted the Copa del Rey and the Champions League – their tenth in total.
The Argentina international is currently at the World Cup in Brazil, playing superbly for his country, but links to a new club for next season continue to persist.
He signed for Real Madrid in 2010 and has gone on to play 124 games in La Liga, lifting the title once. He has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu since last summer when Gareth Bale’s arrival forced people to suspect Di Maria was to be the player moved on to make way for the Welshman.
As it so happened, Mesut Ozil left the Spanish giants and Di Maria was moved back into a midfield three, where he flourished. He won the Man of the Match award in the Champions League final and, despite having such a good season in Spain, is linked with a move to either Arsenal or Man United.
He is not too worried, though.
He said: “I am not going to lie, I know that there are clubs that want to sign me and can match Real Madrid’s demands.
“But that’s up to my representatives and the club. I will stay if the club wants me to stay.
“I am not thinking about my future now. We will see what Madrid have in mind, whether they want me to stay or leave.”
