Real Madrid have been sensational this season after being unbeaten in all competitions with their last defeat coming against Wolfsburg in the Champions League last season.
Off the field, Real are one of the richest clubs in the world with the Los Blancos spending extravagant wages for their array of world-class talents according to president Florentino Perez's Galactico philosophy. Spanish publication, AS has calculated some of the Madrid's players cost for their per minute action on the field.

James Rodriguez has been ignored by Zidane this season and the Colombian is the 20th most used player for the European champions. From the first team squad, only Casemiro and Fabio Coentrao have played fewer minutes than Rodriguez and the duo have been injured for the majority of the season. The Colombian was signed in 2014 for a sum around €80 million for a six-year stint with the club.
Real's investment in him comes down to €13.3 million per season plus his annual salary which amounts to €7,759,380. According to AS findings, when his earnings are calculated to his game time this season, Rodriguez has cost Madrid €42,354 for every minute on the field.
It has also been calculated that Rodriguez will cost the European giants a whopping €21,092,713 for the 2016-17 season. At the same stage of the season in his first campaign for the club under Carlo Ancelotti, James had played 1500 minutes which equates to €14,061 per minute.
Madrid’s creative midfielder, Isco, arrived at the Bernabeu in 2013 from Malaga in a deal worth €30 million and he costs the club €5 million per season. The Spaniard too is one of the players whose future hangs in balance but he has featured more than the Colombian. He has played 715 minutes for Real this season which accounts to €15,384 per minute to the club.

Surprisingly Cristiano Ronaldo has cost less to the club than James Rodriguez this season. He was signed in 2009 on a six-year deal for around €80 million and that contract is already accounted for with the Portuguese being in his eighth season for Real.
Considering his €45 million annual salary and his 1211 minutes of action in the 2016-17 season, Ronaldo costs the club €37,159 for every minute of action on the field.
