Real Madrid ace Gareth Bale has stated that he couldn’t care less about Paul Pogba breaking his transfer record. Pogba moved to Manchester United in the summer for a whopping £89.3m excluding add-ons that comfortably eclipsed the fee paid by Real Madrid to secure Bale. The Welshman made a switch to Madrid for a fee worth £ 85m from Spurs which earned him the tag of the most expensive player on the planet. He has retained that title since 2013 but has had to finally relinquish it to the Frenchman.
Pogba, 23, had initially left the Red Devils for free, way back in 2012 but has returned to Old Trafford for a world record fee. Interestingly enough, Real Madrid were also interested in securing the services of Pogba but the French midfielder refused a move to the Spanish giants in order to move to England for a chance to work with Jose Mourinho
The Welshman, however, is not concerned about being second best. “I'm not fussed and I couldn't care less. None of the players have pulled my leg about it,” Bale said.
The 27-year-old is instead focussed on the things that really matter and hopes his side can make another Champions League final. Los Blancos lifted the Champions League trophy last time around after overcoming Spanish rivals Atletico Madrid on penalties.
With this season's final set to be held In Bale's native Cardiff, the winger feels it would be extremely special to be able to play there. "It would be amazing to get there," said Bale. "My aim is to win as many trophies as I can, as many Champions Leagues as I can. That will be the aim again this year."

Bale feels that having his family and friends close by would be extremely special, "I played the Super Cup in Cardiff before and it was an amazing experience to have my friends and family close by."
Real Madrid have been dealt a relatively easy hand in the Champions League group stages this year as they have been drawn in the same group as Borussia Dortmund, Legia Warsaw, and a depleted Sporting Lisbon.
The Champions League group stage matches kick off on the 14th of September with the final scheduled to be held in Wales in the middle of May.
