Real Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez who suffered a cruciate ligament injury recently in the Champions League clash against Schalke has seen his week go from bad to worse, as his house caught fire and he had to be saved by fire-fighters.
Reports suggest that the Spain under-21 star needed to evacuate his villa when a fire broke out in the car garage, which is attached to his building. He was fortunate to escape the accident unharmed, while three other men who were working in the garage had to be hospitalised, and have been treated for smoke inhalation. One of them also needed to be treated for serious burn injuries.
Rodriguez who is currently on crutches following his surgery had to be taken to safety by the fire-fighters and has been taken in by his Real Madrid team-mate Alvaro Arbeloa, who lives close by.
Rodriguez had been impressive for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit recently, as he put in a string of consistent and impressive performances, and will be cursing his luck to have been side-lined for so long due to the ACL injury. The 21-year-old had scored on five occasions in six games last month and was set to get a run of games in the first team.
