Real Madrid are hoping to sign Manchester United‘s David de Gea to replace Iker Casillas.
The Spaniard, currently 22, is seen to have the potential to become a world class goalkeeper, and Madrid are hoping to sign him as a long term replacement for Casillas.
Casillas is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but the Spaniard has been injured this season. Madrid will have to start making plans for the future and have decided to make a possible move for de Gea, irrespective of whether Jose Mourinho will be there next season or not.
Sir Alex Ferguson acquired the young Spaniard from Atletico Madrid for £17million. The United boss has publicly defended de Gea despite his inconsistent performance for the Red Devils.
David de Gea showed just how good he can be with an amazing performance during the Champions League match against Real Madrid. If the keeper is made available, then there will be plenty of other top clubs offering deals to sign him.
Manchester United are looking to sign Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, which suggests that the club may be thinking about de Gea’s future at Old Trafford. Although de Gea silenced many of his critics with his performance against Real Madrid, but the Premier League has always been a test for him.
Spain boss Vincente Del Bosque has said that he is all set to call on David de Gea for his services.
