Icardi could leave

Mauro Icardi has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for a while now and there might be some good news for the Blancos even today.

CalcioLand podcast producer Alex Goldberg has stated that Mauro Icardi could be enticed to join Real Madrid somewhere down the line. His reasoning is that Inter already have a good replacement in the form of Lautaro Martinez.

As a result, they could be willing to let Icardi go to Madrid, who, he believes, would want a star player like Icardi in the team.

“A couple of factors there: Icardi, of course, has a striker now behind him, Lautaro Martinez, that would be an audacious move if Inter just outright made Martinez the striker but they do have a little bit of a backup plan and, sure, Real Madrid might want a future star, a striker, maybe Bayern Munich once [Robert] Lewandowski goes his way,” he said.
