Despite the fact that Sergio Reguilon has done well whenever given the chance, Real Madrid are perhaps looking for a backup for Marcelo. One of the players that are being linked with the Bernabeu is Real Betis full-back Juan Firpo.

The Blancos might not see Reguilon as an option for the future and have, as a result, targeted Firpo, who is also an attacking-minded left-back with the ability to quickly track back and defend.

The defender himself admitted that he prefers Real Madrid more than other clubs because his father is a Madridista. He also revealed that they only watched Madrid games on TV when they first arrived in Spain.

"I'm drawn more to Madrid, my Dad's a Madridista. When I first came to Spain, Madrid were the only team we watched on TV at home. So I've always felt stronger about Real Madrid," he said.
