#3 William Carvalho on Ronaldo move

Portugal midfielder William Carvalho has expressed his shock at Real Madrid’s decision to sell five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus. The Portugal captain left the Bernabeu in the summer of 2018 and has been playing well for the Old Lady.

In contrast, the Merengues have somewhat struggled to score since his departure as neither Karim Benzema nor Gareth Bale has been consistently finding the net in the absence of the Portuguese, even though the Frenchman is having a decent season thus far.

As a result, Carvalho believes that the Galacticos miss the former Manchester United star “a bit” and that the Juventus number 7 will score a lot of goals for his new team.

"Of course, Cristiano is needed in any team in the world and in Real Madrid they notice a little bit, not much, the goals that Cristiano scored.

"But now he's fine, he's good in Juventus and he'll score many goals there.”

When quizzed about whether he knows the reason for the former Sporting starlet’s decision, he confirmed that while he isn’t aware of his compatriot’s reasoning for leaving the Santiago Bernabeu, he does know that Ronaldo has a huge amount of ambition that makes him strive to be the best.

"It is difficult to know [why he left], I do not know what happened, but I know how Cristiano is, he has an ambition the size of the world, he wants to always do things well and show that he is the best.”

Finally, Carvalho added that he wouldn’t have sold him even for €200 million.

"I would not have sold him for €100 million. Not for €200 million, no."

#2 Hazard deal done?

Former Arsenal striker Paul Mariner believes that the Chelsea wizard has already completed a deal to move to the Santiago Bernabeu next season. The Belgian has been linked with a move to the Merengues ever since his fine showing at the World Cup and the subsequent departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Blancos couldn’t sign him in the summer due to some complication and also failed to replace the quality of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Galacticos are currently fifth in La Liga and will need to strengthen their core if they are to challenge for titles next season, with this season being marked out of expectations already.

And according to Mariner, a deal to bring Hazard to Real Madrid has been completed a “long time ago.”

“It’s a yes,” he said. “I think the deal’s been done a long, long time ago.”

#1 Calderon drops bomb and Griezmann

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has suggested that Zinedine Zidane left Real Madrid because Florentino Perez ignored his suggestion. The Frenchman wanted to keep Cristiano Ronaldo and sell Gareth Bale instead but the opposite happened, triggering him to leave.

“Zidane insisted on keeping Cristiano and selling Bale,” he said.

“Instead, Perez did the opposite. Zidane wanted to have decision-making power when it came to signing and selling players, but his suggestions were ignored, so he decided to move on. Zidane made the right decision.”

Meanwhile, Diario Gol suggest the outrageous as they claim that Real Madrid are considering a move for Antoine Griezmann due to his €200 million release clause, which is much less than Spurs’ €350 million asking price for Harry Kane.
