Santiago Solari then made the huge mistake of claiming that draws are underestimated; something like that coming from a Real Madrid manager is not acceptable and the press, as expected, crucified him for his words.

Following that, his side lost to La Real at the Santiago Bernabeu, putting further pressure on the Argentine. And now, according to the odds, Mourinho is the most favourite to land the job at the Bernabeu at 5/2, followed by Antonio Conte at 3/1.

Summing up the odds, Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It looks as though it’ll be a two-horse race for the Madrid gig between former dugout rivals Mourinho and Conte."
