He has managed only 108 LaLiga games since his first-team debut in 2011. Though he played a lot more frequently under Zinedine Zidane, he was never a first choice defender in the team. The 28-year-old will once again find it difficult to play regularly this season.

He could soon become one of the highest paid Real Madrid players.
