Madrid, Feb 6 (IANS) Real Madrid took a big step towards booking their place in the final of the Spanish Copa del Rey knockout competition with a 3-0 win at home against local rivals Atletico Madrid.
Real Madrid were clearly the better of the two teams Wednesday night but luck too was in their favour as the first and third goals found their way into the back of the Atletico net after taking big deflections, reports Xinhua.
Real Madrid, though, had some bad news before the start of play when Gareth Bale was declared unfit. Coach Carlo Ancelotti hd said Tuesday the Welshman would be fit, but a persistent calf injury ruled him out.
