#2 Steve McManaman
Although another English player is more famous for playing at the capital club, Steve Mcmanaman had a successful time at Real Madrid since he joined them in 1999 from Liverpool. He became the first English player to win the Champions League with a non-English club in 2000 and then became the first English player to win the coveted trophy twice in 2002 as a part of the Galacticos.
He retired while playing for Manchester City in 2005, having joined the Citizens in 2003. Following his retirement, he pursued a career as a sports pundit and has worked for ITV, Setanta Sports and currently at BT Sport.
