Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has expressed his displeasure on returing to the Anfield outfit and wants a permanent move away as soon as possible according to The Metro.
The 31-year-old had a stellar season with Napoli managed by former Liverpool coach Rafa Benitez and helped the club win the Coppa Italia along with guiding them to an impressive third place finish.
The Spain international hopes to make a permanent move to Napoli as he will almost certainly be the second choice goalkeeper behind the impressive Simon Mignolet at Liverpool.
“I believe that the possibility is there [to return to Napoli],” said Reina in an interview to Spanish radio station Onda Cero.
“In Naples I’ve been very good this year, where I feel well-liked and where there is a plan on the table that makes you dream. I never discarded the idea of staying in Naples.
“I have a contract at Liverpool and I have to go back there, but there are also chances that [I will] go away again.”
Reina became a fan favourite at Napoli after he became the first goalkeeper to save a penalty from Mario Balotelli, who is seen as one of the best penalty takers in the world.
