Rennes play host to Toulouse in a Ligue 1 match at the Roazhon Park this Sunday. Rennes are sitting in a disappointing 13th place in the table, while Toulouse are one spot above them in 12th.

So with just a single point separating them, which of these sides will push hard for a victory this weekend?

Toulouse are unbeaten against Rennes in their last three games, and most recently picked up a 1-2 win at Roazhon Park this April. Overall, though, Rennes have won four of their last six home matches with Toulouse.
After going four games without a win between September and October, a 1-0 win over Le Havre appeared to be a turning point for Rennes. However, last weekend saw them slump to a disappointing 4-0 loss to Auxerre, triggering the club's board to fire boss Julien Stephan.
Toulouse, in contrast, impressed last weekend in a 0-3 win over bottom side Montpellier. After losing three games in a row, they have claimed four points from their last two, pushing them up the league table.
While Rennes' overall results have been bad this season, it's interesting to note that in all three of their wins, they've been able to keep a clean sheet. That suggests that a solid defense could be the key to them turning things around.
Despite some relatively solid results this season, Toulouse have tended to struggle in front of goal. They have scored just eleven goals thus far, with only four sides producing fewer to date.

Rennes have been in shaky form as of late, but their squad may well feel somewhat of a bounce following the sacking of Julien Stephan this week.

However, they won't find things easy against Toulouse, particularly after the away side's commanding win over Montpellier last weekend.

With a solid squad to call upon, there's no doubt that Rennes should be doing better than they currently are, but expecting a wild turnaround in this game might be too much. Therefore, a draw feels like the most likely result here.
