Report: Arsenal to beat Manchester United for the “Next Eden Hazard”

Zakaria Bakkali: promising young talent

It was earlier reported that Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal are in the race to sign the PSV Eindhoven wonder kid Zakaria Bakkali. Now, the latest rumours suggest that Arsenal are still the favourites to sign the 17-year-old winger.

Bakkali came in to the spot light with some mind blowing performances this season. He featured in 12 games, scoring 4 goals including a stunning hat-trick against NEC Nijmegen on his professional debut. All his good work on the pitch earned him comparisons with the Belgian super star, Eden Hazard.

Belgium manager Marc Wilmots said,

“Zakaria is a player who scores easily, is very fast and has skillful dribbling”

“Zakaria has just about the same profile as Eden [Hazard]. If something happens to Eden, I will swap him [for Bakkali].”

PSV fear that they may lose Bakkali even before he signs a professional contract with them. They will try their best to keep hold of their rising star when he becomes qualified for signing the contract (at the age of 18).

Arsenal who are known for poaching young talents (remember Cesc?) are sending their scouts regularly to monitor Bakkali. It is expected that the Gunners will step up their chase in January to lure the wonder kid to Emirates as soon as possible.
