Bayern Munich's reluctance to offer 24 year old Toni Kroos a new "improved" contract seems to have sparked Jose Mourinho and Chelsea into life as a report today states that we have offered him a 5-Year-Deal worth £125,000 per week!
Toni Kroos is a world class talent and makes the game look easy and I just wonder if the whole situation with Oscar and his "talks" with PSG is in response to Chelsea's interest in the German midfielder?
We have seen at Bayern and in the World Cup in Brazil that Kroos is the Ringmaster in midfield. Everything good about his team's play starts with or goes through him and if anything, he keeps it nice and simple.
People talk of how good Xabi Alonso was in his prime at passing a football with a wide range of passes and variety and I believe the German is the same.
Being honest, I find it impossible to believe that Pep Guardiola would want to let him go but there had been rumours of a falling out during the course of last season and that could be the deciding factor here. It's believed that Kroos is keen on staying at Bayern but feels that he should be on a similar wage structure as the big earners in Munich but once again in recent days, the Bundesliga Champions are refusing to budge.
Kroos is only 24 years of age and already a world class midfielder in my view. He will continue to get better and better and if we can get hold of him this summer, alongside Cesc Fabregas, it would be a fantastic signing.
I would imagine there is plenty more to come on this story as Chelsea look to spend big this summer. With Fabregas signed and deals expected to be completed for Filipe Luis and Diego Costa in the coming days/weeks, a deal for Kroos would give a real signal of intent from the Manager, the club and the Owner for the coming season.
