Bayern Munich are allegedly set to add to their arsenal of the future with the addition of teenage sensation Martin Odegaard, according to reports coming out from Germany.
German media outlet Sport1 reports that the Bavarians have already agreed upon a deal with the teenage sensation.
Odegaard is set to sign on the dotted line for the reigning German champions today, the 17th of December, which happens to be his 16th birthday as well.
He made his debut for Strømsgodset IF on 13 April 2014, becoming the youngest player to play in the Tippeligaen, and became the youngest goalscorer in the league in May this year. He has won the Tippeligaen Young Player of the Year for 2014.
Bayern are said to have shrugged off a number of other European heavyweights and are set to capture the sensational teenager, who has been labelled as "the talent of the century" by Bayern chairman and German legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
However, noted German journalist Marcus Christenson of the Guardian has stated on Twitter, that he remains skeptical that such a deal has been agreed.
Odegaard was in London last week to check out the facilities and talk to people at Arsenal. The Norwegian hotshot had already visited Bayern, Liverpool, and Real Madrid and has been strongly persuaded by the likes of Ajax, Manchester United, Manchester City and Barcelona.
Although still in his mid-teens, Odegaard has been a prominent player for his club Strømsgodset IF in the Norwegian Tippeligaen, having made 23 appearances this season, scoring five goals and notching up six assists.
Odegaard has already made his debut for the Norwegian national team, when he lined up for the Scandanavian nation to play against Bulgaria in an October qualifier for the European championship, aged 15 years and 300 days.
