Bayern Munich chiefs have insisted that Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski is still on course to join the Bavarian giants next summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper cites sources at the Allianz Arena who claim that the Polish star will pen a pre-contract in January ahead of completing a move to the Bundesliga champions in the summer.
A contract has been verbally agreed and it is thought that Lewandowski will receive a signing-on fee of around £10m and £150,000 per-week in wages once he joins.
The move was thrown into doubt recently when the Poland star claimed that he had not yet agreed a move to Bayern, although he did admit that he was prepared to sign a pre-contract in January.
“I will be able to sign a contract with any club in January, but I have never said I will sign a contract with Bayern. One day, I would like to play in the Premier League. It would be a great experience,” Lewandowski told reporters.
The quotes have reportedly alerted Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea, but Bayern have quashed the rumours and say that Lewandowski will not go public with his destination until January at the earliest.
Lewandowski is currently the joint top scorer in the Bundesliga with six strikes in eight games, and this is backed up by his shot accuracy of 69%.
