Arsenal and Liverpool are both weighing up a summer move for Keylor Navas, as reports the Daily Mail, after the goalkeeper heavily impressed during the World Cup in Brazil.
Navas has been one of the stars of the tournament so far, with his performances between the sticks for Costa Rica having proven a key part of Los Ticos march into the quarter-finals, with a brilliant save in the penalty shoot-out against Greece seeing them progress beyond the second round for the first time in their history.
His form in Brazil has attracted a number of admirers, with Atletico Madrid reportedly leading the chase as they look for a replacement for Thibaut Courtois, who has returned to Chelsea to fight for the number one spot at Stamford Bridge next season.
Arsenal are still not believed to be fully confident in the abilities of Wojciech Szczesny as their number one and require reinforcements in the goalkeeping department anyway, after seeing both Lukasz Fabianski and Emiliano Viviano exit the club this summer.
Brendan Rodgers is also keen to bring in a new ‘keeper at Liverpool with Pepe Reina set to finalise a move away from Anfield in the close season and doubts over Simon Mignolet to be their long-term stopper, with Swansea’s Michel Vorm also being considered.
Despite his impressive form, Navas would come at a very appealing price for either side as they look to keep reserves set aside for other areas of the squad, with Navas having a release clause of just £6.5million at Levante and just one year remaining on his current deal with the Spanish minnows.
