What’s the rumour?
As per reports from The Sun, Arsenal have stepped up their interest in Lyon's Nabil Fekir. The winger has been in incredible form this season and The Gunners are keen on making a move for the player.
In case you didn't know...
Fekir broke into the first team at Lyon in 2013 and has enjoyed a meteoric rise since. He has made 150 appearances for the French outfit and has scored 56 times in the process. He has also made 10 appearances for the French national team and will be hoping to get on the plane to Russia this summer.
A technically gifted player, he is capable of playing in multiple attacking positions, but is often deployed in a central attacking role, behind the striker, at Lyon.
The 24-year-old has been in great form throughout the season and has pitched in with 22 goals and 7 assists in 37 matches for the club.
The heart of the matter
Arsene Wenger's decision to step down after a legendary 22-year career at the club is likely to trigger a whole lot of changes. As part of their transfer activity this summer, the Arsenal hierarchy are targeting a move for Fekir.
He has been on their radar for a while and Arsenal's scouts have also been impressed by his exploits in France as per the report.
The player is contracted till 2020 and is valued at around £50 million by Lyon.

Author’s take
Fekir has immense potential and a bright future in front of him. He is also at the right time in his career to seek a move away and Arsenal will be the perfect club for him to continue his development. But, there is little chance that Lyon will let go of one of their prized assets and Arsenal may need to make a substantial offer to rope him in.
