Arsenal are reportedly preparing a contract offer for Alvaro Morata to try and convince him to move to London. The Real Madrid striker has been a target for the Gunners for quite some time and this is the first time they have shown concrete interest in him.
Morata was recently re-signed by Real Madrid from Juventus for €30 million but they are said to be interested in cashing in on him this summer to fund moves for other targets. A lot of European clubs are interested in signing the Spanish International and Real Madrid believe that this is the best time for them to sell him.
Spanish publication, Don Balon are reporting that Arsenal readied a contract for Morata to lure him to Emirates. It is reported that the wages offered to the Spanish International are £140,000 per week. Wenger is keen on adding a striker to the squad and Morata is his choice now after Jamie Vardy rejected the move.
Arsenal are not going to find it easy to sign Alvaro Morata under any circumstances. Real Madrid know that there are several clubs interested in him and thus are not going to lower their asking price for him despite Arsenal believing that they can sign him for £30 million.
Real Madrid are said to be valuing him at £40 million and were ready to offer him to Chelsea in a swap deal for Eden Hazard. Chelsea are also interested in Morata but are not willing to let their prized asset, Eden Hazard leave the club anytime soon. Zidane is desperate to land the Belgian but the offer put forward to Chelsea is of £35 million + Alvaro Morata and it has been straight away rejected by Chelsea.
Manchester United have landed Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer and also have Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford in their ranks. But still, the Red Devils are said to be interested in signing Morata as well. Jose Mourinho looks set to play with 2 strikers up front next season and this might be the reason why they are interested in him.
PSG have already lost Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani is said to be keen on leaving the club this summer. Unai Emery has been following Morata for a long time and has tried to sign him on loan several times while he was at Sevilla. PSG have made several enquiries for the striker in recent times and will be ready to pay anything around £40 million for Morata.
Morata is a hot property this summer and it will be interesting to see if he stays at Real Madrid or moves to the Premier League this summer.
