Chelsea have joined the long list of interested parties for Real Madrid and Argentina midfielder Angel Di Maria, alongside Paris Saint-Germain , according to Marca.
Di Maria is currently at the World Cup with Argentina and scored the goal that sent his country through to the quarter-finals of the tournament after an extra-time 1-0 win over Switzerland.
He was fantastic for Real Madrid last season as the Spanish giants won Copa del Rey and finally won their tenth European Cup, beating Atletico Madrid in Lisbon. He was superb that night and picked up the Man of the Match award as he drove his side forward in normal and extra-time.
For months, Arsenal, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have all been interested but it is understood that the latter team, who won Ligue 1 again last season, are in pole position for his signing.
However, they have competition from Chelsea, who are now also interested in signing the Argentine this summer. Jose Mourinho may be set for a switch in tactics and formation at Chelsea next season with Cesc Fabregas already through the door and Paul Pogba heavily linked.
Di Maria would not be cheap but Chelsea have already parted with some considerable fees to acquire Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa from La Liga.
