Chelsea are to offer Bayern Munich midfield star Toni Kroos a weekly salary of £125,000 to secure his signing from the German champions, according to the Metro.
Kroos, 24, has been linked with a whole host of top clubs from around Europe over the last few months and it now seems that Chelsea, who recently signed Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona, are in pole position to sign the German.
Arsenal and, more frequently, Manchester United were originally linked to Kroos, who starred for Bayern Munich last season and won the Bundesliga along with the German Cup, but it now seems that Chelsea are in the lead to sign the midfielder. The Red Devils, in fact, have continue to be linked with the German Ace, and it recently emerged that newly appointed manager Louis van Gaal reportedly called Kroos personally to discuss a move.
Kroos has allegedly rejected a contract offer from Bayern which could lead to a summer departure as his contract expires next summer. Real Madrid apparently made a move previously for Kroos but, despite all the previous links, it now looks likely that Chelsea will steal in ahead of the bunch.
Reports suggest the Blues will pay as little as £15 million for Kroos and then offer him £125,000 p/week wages to lure him to Stamford Bridge.
His agent has already claimed that Kroos wants a pay rise and with Bayern seemingly not happy to give him the raise he’s after, his future in Munich could be over very soon.
