According to Madrid-based newspaper AS, superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is upset with the President of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez. It has been reported that he feels that he hasn’t received enough support from the club.
The Portuguese captain is miffed that he hasn’t been supported by the club after the fall-out from his birthday celebrations, which was because it was the same day that Real Madrid had lost 4-0 to Atletico at the Vicente Calderon. He has been on a self-imposed media silence ever since.
He is also said to be not very happy with the fact that his opinion did not count for much when Carlo Ancelotti’s future was being discussed and that club doctor Jesús Olmo’s contract was renewed despite many team members not agreeing with his injury recovery methods. Ronaldo had come out openly in support of Ancelotti, saying he hoped to work with him next season, but the Italian was sacked by Perez.
In what comes across as an interesting development, the former Manchester United man is also unhappy that reports of his apparent role change (playing as an old-school number 9) under new manager Rafael Benitez were released by the media, rather than the club themselves.
