Reports have emerged that suggest that Everton are considering making a move for AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek in the January transfer window.
The Toffees have struggled so far this season and need a boost up front, with the team's top goalscorers, Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, having just three goals apiece.
Now, according to Calcio Mercato (via Goal), it appears that Marco Silva is interested in bringing Polish international Krzysztof Piatek to Goodison Park to provide extra options in attack.
After establishing himself as a top goalscorer in his home nation, Piatek moved to Italy and proceeded to score 30 goals in all competitions for Genoa and AC Milan, having joined the latter in January of this year.
After such a strong showing in his debut season, many believe Piatek would continue to lead the line for the Rossoneri, but things have not progressed as they had expected.
In 12 appearances this season, the 24-year-old has scored just three goals himself.
This downturn doesn't necessarily make Piatek an unworthy signing for Everton, with AC Milan as a whole having a disappointing season - currently sitting 14th in the league after finishing 5th in 2018/19.
Equally, Piatek's three goals also sees him sit atop the Italian club's goalscoring charts this season, in a similar way to Everton's own top producers.
If the Toffees are truly interested in bringing the Polish striker to England, then they will need to part ways with one promising young player that has failed to impress so far this season.
Moise Kean joined the club this summer but has failed to score a single goal for the club, with just one assist coming in his ten Premier League appearances to date.
Kean joined Everton this summer after scoring six goals in 13 Serie A appearances for Juventus in the 2018/19 season.
The 19-year-old striker still has a lot of potential and may just be finding the adjustment to English football a challenge.
Swapping Moise for Piatek could be quite a gamble for Everton, who need to land a legitimate goalscorer in order to turn their disappointing season around.
If Marco Silva fails to impress during the January transfer window it could signal the end of his tenure in charge at Goodison Park, so making sure the club brings in an impact player will be a top priority.
