What’s the story?
Alvaro Morata looks all set to leave Real Madrid at the end of this season, according to reports in Spain. The Spaniard failed to break into Madrid’s starting XI this season and could move to the Premier League in search of more playing time.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has requested Florentino Perez to convince the 24-year-old to join the Red Devils in the upcoming transfer window.

However, the Real striker wants to move to newly crowned Premier League winners Chelsea next season.
In case you didn’t know…
Morata has scored 20 goals and assisted another six in 41 appearances for his club this season. He had a good run at Juventus and was part of his side’s run to the Champions League final a few seasons ago that they eventually lost to Barcelona. He was subsequently re-signed by Madrid who used their buy-back clause.
The 24-year-old hasn’t had enough playing time under Zinedine Zidane, though, as he was started in only 13 games this season. However, he’s been involved in a goal or an assist every 71 minutes, the most effective of any Real Madrid player this season – and a rate better than even Lionel Messi!
The Heart of the Matter
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic out of season due to the ligament injury that he suffered in the Europa League, Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing an experienced striker, and the Spaniard is his top choice to replace the former Sweden striker next season. Though Morata is still young, he had played in the Serie A, La Liga and the Champions League.
We might see massive changes at Manchester United this summer as the United boss is ready to splash £200m in the next transfer window. Apart from Morata, United are targeting Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe and Dries Mertens in the next summer transfer window.
However, United must win the Europa League to bring some big players to Old Trafford next season.
Meanwhile, Diego Costa is set to leave Chelsea this summer and the Blues boss Antonio Conte wants to replace him by bringing the former Juventus striker to Stamford Bridge next season.
What’s next?
It won’t be easy for Mourinho to bring Morata to Old Trafford as their Premier League rivals Chelsea are also looking to sign the 24-year-old.
However, United, with their financial muscle can sign some of the biggest names this summer and if Los Blancos’ striker signs for the Red Devils next season, it wouldn’t be a big surprise.
Author’s Take
United should do everything in their power to bring the 24-year-old to Old Trafford next season. The Spaniard is a clinical finisher, and the Red Devils need a similar player who can turn the chances into goals.
