Reports: Jose Mourinho most likely to become Real Madrid’s manager next season

What’s the story?

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon believes that Jose Mourinho will once again be the manager of Los Blancos as he thinks that Florentino Perez will appoint the Portuguese once again next season.

In case you didn’t know…

Real Madrid lost their last game 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu against Barcelona. That defeat put a dent in Solari’s future as the manager of the club and his fate could be sealed after Real Madrid’s next match, which is a league game against Barcelona.

The heart of the matter

According to Ramon Calderon, Florentino Perez already tried to bring back the Portuguese a few months ago and is almost certain that he would be the next coach at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"Florentino Pérez has already tried to bring him back a few months ago. Mourinho is the only coach he respects. He has the ability to impose authority on the media and the players. It can’t be guaranteed, but I am 90% sure he will lead Real Madrid next season.

“I think he will accept the offer because it's not easy to say no to Real Madrid. Here, he was good and was supported, then he had problems, as he had elsewhere, but I insist, there is Florentino who really supports him," Calderon said.

What’s next?

Only time will tell whether the words of Calderon come true. There is still a chance for Santiago Solari to keep his job if he somehow manages to make Real Madrid win the Champions League, which is the main objective for now.

The Galacticos’ next match is against Barcelona in the league and a loss in that match would virtually leave the Merengues out of the title race.
