What’s the rumour?
Adrien Rabiot is going to be a free agent in the summer and he is yet to sign a deal with any club. According to Sport, however, he has offers from many European clubs, including teams from England and Italy, but he has expressed to his inner circle that he desires to play for Barcelona.
In case you didn’t know…
The Frenchman is currently suspended by PSG due to a standoff in contractual talks. The midfielder has interest from a plethora of clubs with the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester United being linked to him.
The heart of the matter
Barcelona wanted to sign him in the January transfer window and offered PSG €40 million. However, the French giants refused to negotiate with the Catalans and Rabiot stayed in Paris.
The report also adds that the player’s entourage promised to visit the Camp Nou to negotiate a deal but haven’t done so yet. As a result, Barcelona consider their January offer expired and will only continue talks if the player’s party commence it.
However, they won’t make an offer as great as the one they made in January.
Rumour rating: 6/10
There are two ways to look at this. One, this is a way of Sport informing Rabiot about Barcelona’s stand or, two, the report accurately informs the happenings of the past. In both cases, it seems as though Rabiot and his representatives have to be the ones to start talks

What’s next?
Rabiot is currently serving a suspension in France and is unlikely to play another minute of football for PSG. In that case, he could be very out of shape by the time the summer of 2019 comes in – which wouldn’t be a good thing for the player.
