What's the story?
Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian is set to join Italian giants Juventus on loan, according to reports from Goal. The short-term deal is most likely to be made permanent in the summer when the player's contract expires. He will pen a deal with the Turin-based club for £3 million.
In case you didn't know...
Darmian has failed to cement his place in the Manchester United setup ever since his move to England. Injuries and his position in the pecking order have reduced him to the bench more often than not, as he has only mustered four starts in the Premier League since the beginning of the season.
The heart of the matter
Ashley Young's return to his favored right back position, Antonio Valencia's presence and Diogo Dalot's impressive performances have restricted Darmian's game time.
He joined the English powerhouse just over three and a half years ago but has only piled up 91 appearances for them.
The former Torino, Palermo and Milan full back's move to Juventus will allow Leonardo Spinazzola to move to Bologna on loan. Appearances might be limited at Italy due to stiff competition, but nevertheless, it will be a fresh start for Darmian.
The Red Devils are unlikely to beef up their squad in this transfer window or bolster their defensive depth, as suggested by their manager a few days ago.
Rumour probability: 8/10
Given his present situation at Old Trafford and the reliability of the source that has reported the above rumour, it looks like Darmian might have played his final game in Manchester United colours against Brighton and Hove Albion.

What's next?
The Red Devils have a fine squad in terms of depth at the back, and not many will fear the loss of Matteo Darmian, regardless of his potential.
Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and co. will have their task cut out when they travel to Arsenal this weekend in the feature game of the FA Cup fourth round. Up next in the domestic league, they host a resurgent Burnley side.
