Manchester United had a quiet January transfer window with the only notable move being Marouane Fellaini leaving late for China. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the Red Devils decided to stick with what they have. Anthony Martial signed a 5-year extension which can be termed as the best business United did in January.
But United are still identifying their targets for the summer transfer window. According to The Independent, both Milan Skriniar and Kalidou Koulibaly are amongst the players that are the top targets for Manchester United this summer. These two centre-backs have been absolutely brilliant for their respective teams and will clearly improve Manchester United's back line. Kalidou Koulibaly has won 69 percent of his tackles compared to Phil Jones's 59 percent this season.
It's no secret that the Red Devils need a new centre back, that too a top quality one. Manchester United have been leaking goals in defence this season which showed recently against Burnley. The likes of Phil Jones and Eric Bailly have made many mistakes which have led to United giving away some very silly goals. The lack of a good defence and the lack of investment in the summer is part of what cost Jose Mourinho his job and this is a feat that United wouldn't want to repeat.
This squad has some serious attacking talent and they have shown that they can score some goals but they have some serious problems at the other end of the pitch and they have to address this issue if they are to challenge for titles next season. Koulibaly and Skriniar will seriously aid their defence, but they will not come for cheap as many top European clubs are interested in both of them.
