What's the rumour?
Marcus Rashford is reportedly in talks with Manchester United over the prospect of a new deal that will double his wages at Old Trafford.
In case you didn't know...
Rashford has been pivotal in United's resurrection under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, having netted six goals in his past ten matches for the Red Devils.
The promising 21-year-old, who has cemented his place as Europe's most talented youngsters, will be out of contract in 18 months but United are confident of his future at the club and are looking to extend his stay further.
United have already tied down another talented star, Anthony Martial, with a five-year contract last week and looks set to do the same with Rashford.
The heart of the matter
Contract talks have reportedly progressed between the two parties, reports The Telegraph, as the club is ready to offer Rashford a new long-term contract that will see his wages doubled.
The report states that United believe the duo will be at the heart of a "world-class attack" at the club in subsequent years.
The five-year contract will reportedly see his wages double to more than £150,000 a week with bonuses, despite the club having the option of extending his current contract by 12 months.
The publication also reports that Rashford sees his future at Old Trafford despite European interest from clubs like Real Madrid.
Rumour rating: 8/10
Since his rise to the first team under Louis Van Gaal, Rashford has time and again showed his potential in becoming one of the club's biggest stars.
Under Solskjaer, the young forward has established himself as an indispensable part of the team and together with Martial, is set to terrorize opponents' defences for years to come.
United has always been reluctant to let Rashford go and looks set to make every effort to tie him down in the long term.
