What's the rumour?
The rumour mill has come up with another breaking story concerning the Champions League holders. Rumours surrounding the potential transfer of Harry Kane have been rife ever since the striker hit top form last year. But, Metro is now reporting that Real Madrid have decided to end their interest in the Englishman.

In case you didn't know...
The top-scorer - in arguably the toughest league in Europe - for the last two seasons was in sensational touch for the entirety of last year. A run ending cruely due to injury against Bournemouth which will keep him out for at least four weeks.
Real Madrid have long been in the market for a striker with Karim Benzema continuing to split opinions. The Frenchman has never really been a hot favourite at the Spanish capital despite his good track-record.
Things headed further south this season as the striker failed to score in 7 consecutive home games in the league, an unwanted record for the number 9. The 29-year-old has gotten off to his slowest start in 8 seasons in Spain. Therefore, the arrival of Harry Kane was almost a certainty for most of the media houses in Madrid.
But a spanner seems to have hit the works.

The heart of the matter
Reports from Metro had earlier claimed that Daniel Levy, Tottenham chairman, had demanded £300 million for Harry Kane in an attempt to discourage rival Premier League clubs.
But AS is now claiming that Madrid are no longer looking to pursue Kane this summer, despite being in the market for a new world-class striker.
According to Metro, Real Madrid has cited two reasons for ending their interest in the Englishman. Apart from the hefty valuation of the striker by Spurs, the Spanish club is uncertain of how Harry Kane will fit in at the club owing to his "introverted nature".
A problem that they are already facing with Gareth Bale. As a result it seems as though the Spanish Champions will not match the sum quoted by the North London side to secure the services of Kane.
Rumour rating/probability: 5/10
We're gonna split this one right down the middle. This could mean anything. Either Madrid have actually ended their interest in the striker or it maybe a tactic to get Tottenham to lower their expectations. In this bizarre world of the transfer market nothing can be said with certainty, except that this is far from over.

Author's take
Real Madrid are undeniably in the need of a World Class striker and Kane fits that bill. They need an upgrade on Karim Benzema, which is difficult enough to find, but in the current transfer market is next to impossible.
Harry Kane has shown that he can play in the biggest of matches and has delivered consistently, so for Real Madrid to throw in the towel already is a little hard to swallow.
