In his sixth and final season in Manchester United colours, Ronaldo brought up his 100th goal for the club with the first of his two free-kicks against Stoke City.

Following an assist in the final of the Club World Cup against Quito, Ronaldo became United's first Ballon d'Or winner in four decades and also became the first Premier League player to win the FIFA World Player of the year.

The winger's returns dwindled in the Champions League after an eight-goal season, scoring four goals in 12 games. The Portuguese star's fabulous freekick and a counter-attacking goal following a long-busting run against Arsenal propelled United to consecutive Champions League finals where they fell to 0-2 defeat to Barcelona.

Ronaldo scored his final goal for United with a freekick at home in the Manchester Derby as he ended the season with 26 goals in all competitions.

After six fruitful trophy-laden seasons with Manchester United, Ronaldo realised his boyhood dream by moving to Real Madrid in the summer of 2009-10 for a then-record €94 million transfer fee.

Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot in his LaLiga debut in a 3-2 win against Deportivo La Coruna. With goals in each of his next three Liga fixtures, Ronaldo became the first player to score in each of his first four games in the Spanish top-flight.

A pair of free-kicks against Zurich brought up Ronaldo's first Champions League goals for his new club as the Portuguese player ended his first season in Spain with 33 goals in 35 games in all competitions.

Following club record-scorer Raul's departure in the off-season, Ronaldo inherited the no. 7 jersey from the club legend, the same jersey number which he used to wear during his time as a Manchester United player.

After his 4-goal game against Levante, Ronaldo scored hat-tricks against Athletic Bilbao, Levante, Villarreal, and Malaga en route to becoming the first player to score 40 Liga goals in a season as Real Madrid fell four points short of league winners Barcelona.

Ronaldo won his first title in Spain after scoring the only goal in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona. With a haul of seven Copa del Rey goals and six in the Champions League, Ronaldo brought up his first 50-goal season in club football, scoring a total of 53 goals in 54 games in all competitions.

#7 2011-12 (60 goals)

Not content with his goal-scoring exploits in the previous seasons, Ronaldo produced his first 60-goal season in club football. The Portugal star's 46 Liga goals were instrumental in Madrid's first Liga title in four years as Ronaldo won his first (of two) Liga titles for the capital club.

A brace against Real Zaragoza made Ronaldo the fastest player to score 100 Liga goals, doing so in 13 fewer games than the erstwhile record-holder Ferenc Puskas (105). A hat-trick in the Madrid derby made Ronaldo the first player to score 40 goals in consecutive Liga seasons.

A goal against Mallorca on the final day made Ronaldo the first player to score against all 19 Liga teams in a season.

Ronaldo scored twice in the semi-final against Bayern Munich en route to tallying a double-digit season goal tally (10 goals in 10 games) for the first time in the competition but missed his spot-kick in the ensuing shootout as Madrid exited in the semi-finals for the second consecutive season.

Ronaldo's first of two goals in the semi-final victory over Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey made him the first player to score in every minute of a 90-minute football game.
