Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, has cleared supporters’ doubts after putting pen to paper on a 1-year contract extension.
The Englishman, who earlier this month announced his retirement from international football, has been in solid form and largely contributed in United’s reclamation of the Premier League title from their neighbours, Manchester City.
With Chris Smalling and Phil Jones being regularly irregular, the presence of an experienced rear-guard was a must for the champions and they’ll be thrilled at Rio’s agreement of the contract.
The 35-year old was included in the PFA Team of the Year for his performances this season and will surely look to continue his form into the next season.
